Maths
In maths I learnt the formula for getting a area around different shapes like rectangle, triangle and a parallelogram. I think that it was easier to do the rectangle and the triangle because when you calculate the parallelogram you can't do the b x h the sides are not straight. In class a friend and I had trouble calculating the area and perimeter because we got confused which one to times and which one to plus. Afterwards we figured out that the area is times and perimeter is plus. I also found out what a radius, diameter and circumference means and how to use it in my learning.

The practicals I have done are savoury cases and chicken stir fry.The difference between hygiene and personal safety is….
The word “hygiene” means maintaining your health and not getting diseases or germs. You shouldn’t wash your hand before and after and also if you touch meat or chicken.
The word “personal health” means not getting in danger or any injury. Don’t run around with sharp objects. Be aware of your surrounding and other people so you don’t hurt and injure someone.
Last week when we did a practical I demonstrated hygiene and safety by not being silly around sharp objects and wash my hand before I do anything and when I touch food items like chicken, vegetables and more. Also washing the table before and after you make food.
When you use chicken you have to wash you hand before and after you touch it. You also have to make sure the chicken is cooked all the way through because if it isn't you can get salmonella which can make you sick .
What is bacteria?
Bacteria is bad germs get can be anywhere and could get in your food.
What do bacteria need to survive?
Water to dissolve in the food to make them have energy. Energy sources such as sugars, starch, protein, fats and other give the nutrients.
You can avoid spreading it by cleaning your tables with cleaning products, don't touch your nose, eye or mouth.
What does cross contamination mean and how affects you?
The meaning is when bacteria can be transferred from one place to another and can be bad for you.
It can occurs when bacteria and viruses are transferred from a contaminated food or surface such as a chopping board and utensils.

In our practical one of the things we made was cupcake. First what we did was get all the ingredients and then put it all in a bowl and mixed together. Overall the cupcakes turned out not the best because when I scooped the batter in the cupcake tins they were uneven so so of then were uncooked and some were okay.
Another practical was a friand we made that tasted a lot like lemons. Something I could've done was put the baking soda in the milk but we didn't do that. Some improvements that we should do next time is to let other people do something because they are just stand there and watch.
The ginger gems we made was good because everyone worked together to something. The raining agents that was used is the egg whites. Overall the ginger gems turned out pretty good because nothing we did messed up.
The pizza swirls were not the best. Something we did was put to much milk so it turned out to be savoury scones. Next time we should do it slowly so we don't put to much milk and read the recipe.

Last weeks practical was when we did savoury cases. I working with three other people Lauren, Andre and Caleb. We were working together really well because two people would do the same thing and the others would do something else. But maybe next we could also worked together two people would wash and dry the dishes and the other two would clean the table again and put away the dry dishes because someone would just stand there doing nothing when you should be doing something.
Before you do anything in a practical you need to wash your hands and the table. We assigned each other to do different tasks. After you would read the instructions and get your utensils and the food you need. Keep the foods like chicken and vegetables on a different cutting board. When you finish cooking again should clean table, clean dishes and put away clean and dry dishes.
Cooking this year is a lot different from last year because every time we were at the cooking place we would always cook something. This year is different because there's one day practical which is when we cook and one day where we research what we would do for the next practical.

Human Rights
Human rights are important because without them the world wouldn’t be the way it is. Human right give people the freedom to choose how to live, express themselves and more.
This mean that human rights also guarantee people the means necessary to satisfy their basic needs, such as food, housing, and education, so they can take full advantage of all opportunities.
For example we have human rights to have freedom and the right to live life free of discrimination.
This is Human rights they protect everyone's rights and freedom.
Science
Aim: To observe convection in a liquid
Method:
1. Set up a Bunsen burner on a heatproof mat. Put the gauze mat on the tripod but leave it just to one side of the Bunsen burner.
2. Fill a 200 ml beaker with 150 ml cold water.
3. Place the beaker on top of the tripod and gauze and allow it to settle for a few minutes.
4.Carefully insert a drinking straw down one side of the beaker, ensuring the straw is touching the bottom of the beaker. Be careful as you do not want to disturb the water too much.
5. Using tweezers, drop a crystal of potassium permangante down inside of the straw. Wait for the crystal to settle on the bottom of the beaker.
6. Very gently, so to not disturb the water, remove the straw.
7. Light the Bunsen and slide it under the tripod so that you are only heating the outside of the beaker the the crystal is. Observe
Results:

Discussion:
We saw the potassium permangante expand in the water. The water rises because it's less dense. Also the potassium permangante is more dense so it would expand.
