Summer Learning - About Me

Hello everyone my name is Genica and I am going be doing the summer learning journey. I am here to tell you something about me and what I would get if I won. I am a year 8 and go to Hornby High School and spend time blogging about my school work. My hobbies are playing football, physical sports. If I won I would spend it on sports gear and other stuff related to football. 

Nutrition

Today we watched a video about nutrition and something i learnt was that in the old day when people were get the wheat they put it in a machine and then took the good vitamins and fed them to the cows. I would still like to learnt about how sugar makes you bad and also how to make a good and healthy meal. I was wondering about how much sugar can be in foods and drinks.

My group and I looked at some foods and drinks and saw how much sugar there is. Here are some pictures of them.

We were asked to get a item and see what colours are on the label. We chose Vitamin water and the label colours are red/ orange and white colour and have the logo on there. I think they used those colours because it was the colour of the drink and I think the put the logo on it because it's part of the company.All the pictures that are on there help you to know if what it is. It also says low calories and the favour of it which is peach and pineapple.

Today I did dome tests and one was a agility test and a 12 minute run. Here are my scores for both of them.

Summer Learning Journey

Today I started to do the Summer Learning Journey. What you do in the Summer learning journey you do research about different types of topics and post them on you blog.  We were told how to register to take part in this and then start on the activities. The first activity was about researching questions about other country's and I did Canada. Here are some facts about Canada that I Researched.

The name of the capital city of Canada is Ottawa.
The population of the capital city is 934,240.
In January, the weather is in the capital city is usually winter.
The capital city is located in the west.
The language most commonly spoken in the capital city are English and French.

After I finished searching for answers I learnt so much about Canada. It was so fun because you learn so much facts about it. I also learnt that when you put main words on what your looking for into Google you should get almost all your information right. 

Maths DLO

In maths I have been learning to calculate the probability of events. I have made a DLO about it that might help you.

Drama

Today Alesha, Kasey, Lorelei, Reige, Kalim and I going to make a dance up. We are hoping this the dance will turn up good and have high hopes for it. Some people is going to dance or play the piano. We are going to do a hip hop style and hope it will  blow to audience away.

Move to improve

Today it was my first time doing passion project and I chosen move to improve.

Why have you chosen this project, and what do you hope to achieve?
I have chosen this project because I want to about types of fitness skills and drills. I want to achieve getting at least get five laps for the 12 minute run.

What are some activities that you would like to do and/or things you would like you learn as part of your passion project
I would like to do anything based of running.
