Social Studies

What is the difference between primary and secondary resources?
Primary resources are things like natural resources. Secondary resources are things that are made from other things. Produced or manufactured.

Why did this Filipino migrate to New Zealand?

When she was in the Philippines her life was hard. She was a single parent at 17.
She grew up in a poor family  having no education and savings. Her life was
hard struggling to survive with a child all alone with no support. I think the
reason she migrated to New Zealand was so that she can start a new life and
give her child opportunities she never had.

In the Philippines she worked really hard so she could feed her son. It broke her
heart to see him wanting. She thought a lot about going back to school and she
realised her and son wouldn’t be able to survive if she didn’t. One day her work
mate applied for a work visa stamp. Only one came back and it was hers. She
thought going to New zealand was going to be a big risk because she didn’t
know anyone there. But she left and found someone there who could
accommodate her.  She attended lots of job interviews. She was told to get a
proper work visa and then go back to the Philippines. After five year she got
the visa and was back in the Philippines. She was working at an international
organisation with lots of benefits and a good paycheck.  She misses the
memories back in New Zealand where kids were running barefoot, big
gardens etc.
